When things go smoothly, it is easy to overlook daily maintenance work and reasonably believe that it is not worth spending time regularly inspecting and replacing parts. But in reality, most factories are equipped with multiple pumps to perform various functions that are essential for the successful operation of a factory. If a pump malfunctions, it may cause the entire factory to stop operating.
A pump is like a gear in a wheel, whether used in manufacturing processes, HVAC, or water treatment, it can make factories operate efficiently. To ensure the normal operation of the pump, regular maintenance plans should be implemented and followed.
1. Determine maintenance frequency
Consult the original manufacturer's guidelines and consider scheduling repair times. Does the production line or pump need to be shut down? Choose a system shutdown time and use common sense to develop a maintenance schedule and frequency.
2. Observation is key
Understand the system and select a point to observe it while the pump is still running. Record leaks, unusual sounds, vibrations, and odors.
3. Safety first
Before conducting maintenance and/or system checks, ensure that the machine is shut down properly. Proper isolation is crucial for both electrical and hydraulic systems.
4. Conduct mechanical inspection
1. Check if the installation point is safe;
2. Check the mechanical seal and packing;
3. Check the pump flange for leaks;
4. Check the joint;
5. Check and clean the filter.
5. Lubrication
According to the manufacturer's guidelines, lubricate the motor and pump bearings. Remember not to over lubricate. Many bearing damages are caused by excessive lubrication rather than insufficient lubrication. If the bearing has an exhaust cover, before reinstalling the cover, remove the cover and run the pump for 30 minutes to drain excess grease from the bearing.
6. Electrical/motor inspection
1. Check if all terminals are tight;
2. Check if there is any dust/dirt accumulation in the motor v
